another dumb blazer question

ok i got the motor in my truck the other week and this past weekend got the transmission in . you all would have laughed at how i did it . well i am up to the exhaust part of the deal . i have a set of headers but they rub the sping eye blots and the clutch linkage will not work with these . truck was a automatic to start with but i converted it to a 4speed with a 205 . what is everyone runing for exhaust ? i really would like to run headers since i have a mild 350 with a aluminum intake and 650 holley on top but i am open to any other suggestions for exhaust .

Re: another dumb blazer question

I'm running a BBC with Hedman headers. No rubbing on the suspension. Looks like the frame was "notched" a little for clearance.

Re: another dumb blazer question

Although I'm running an Automatic, I bought a set of Hedman "Elite" Headers.
(Part numbers and pictures are in my "GQ" siggy link) They were almost a full
6" higher up than the ones I had. (No spring eye issues and straighter pipes
which create better flow, so no low hanging pipes visable from the side view
of her, and I have 35's so you can see alot without looking really hard)

*Edit - Page 13 shows part #'s, and 2 pic down / 2 pic over shows the big
differance in height (old vs. new) w/ header mounted & old pipes still there.
(I spent 2 hours w/ them on the phone in Cali before I ordered that part #)

Re: another dumb blazer question

Well since my truck sits so high and my lift will only go up a few inches with it since the roof in the shop is to low . I had to use a engine crane threw the passenger side of the truck .I had to take the door off so i could get to the right spot .wish i would have taken some pics you all would have laughed .

Re: another dumb blazer question

I ran Hedmen Elites also. I had them on my 350 w/SM465/205 combo. The only mod was to slightly relocate the Z-bar, the frame mount position had to be move toward the firewall about 1". No shackel issues. Nice heder for sure, the 99 dollor type headers are the ones that rust up and leak from the thinner flanges warping.
I found a pic:

See the frame bracket and the new location for the nut. Thoes Hedmens didn't change much in color also.

Re: another dumb blazer question

I might have the number in my recipt box. I don't remember it, I now run a 454 with Thorley Tri-Ys.
I got them from Summit and I think they were 300 bucks or so but they will last and not warp with the thick flage and nickel/ceramic coating(or whatever the coating is)
