Re: These things are like stray dogs....
Not to be taken as shooting real dogs. I'm a dog lover all the way. The wife is tired of me dragging vehicles home. Thats the point I was getting at.

Re: These things are like stray dogs....
I used to feel that way too, but these old trucks are much less trouble! You know, I was wondering if I should try to get that primer off. From what I can tell, the paint underneath still seems good, with just a little patina, which looks like what they were trying to fix. I can chip some of that primer off w/my hands in a few places. Do you guys think it would be possible to get that stuff off, or would it just be a big PITA and end up looking worse? And if it would take me "a few years of rubbing" then I'll pass... I know nothing about paint and body, so don't treat me too rough

Re: These things are like stray dogs....
a lot would depend on how the finish is underneath. I have removed paint from overtop another finsh (poorly prepared thankfully) by using ecetone to rub off the unwanted top layer.... the original layer had a poly top coat, which made it easier... not sure how that would transfer to an automotive appication.....
