Junkyard run!
Ok I was taking scrap out to the scrap yard today...cause of yesterdays bs at the yard I was going to....I changed yards. When I went to this yard I asked the guy if he had any 67 to 72's out there....He said yes! There is 4 total. 2 71's and 2 72's. I ended up buying one of the 72. One of the 71's is a air cab. I also got 2 perfect fleet tailgates! I am going to buy at least 4 of the doors. There is one good 71-72 grille. The one truck I bought is disc brake and p/s p/b. I got lucky there and it costed me way less then what it would have costed me for a bed. The last bed I looked at was 775.00. This cab is perfect! No rust from what I seen...and the carpet and seat was gone!
As soon a Photobucket gets fixed I will post pics!

Re: Junkyard run!
The 72 probably has a rear end that would solve your axle problems...

The only good thing about NY rust was that when I moved south, I only had to take half as much stuff with me.

Re: Junkyard run!
I am going to change over the stepper too. Its needs 5 lugs and disc brakes...boy I am going to get in trouble with the old lady one of these days...I might be pushing it. I got the look today when the 72 arrived.

Heres one of the reason why I bought the 72. The p/s p/b set up...also the disc and 5 lug.

Re: Junkyard run!
I do believe the best of three trucks will become one. With what was left of my old 69 fleet...The frame out of the one I bought here while back...and the 72 I just got...I may have one hell of a truck!

Re: Junkyard run!
you are a lucky fellow. i have yet to see more than one of these old trucks at any one time in the scrap yard. When i do they are usually picked apart pretty good

Re: Junkyard run!
The truck came home yesterday. I got some inside bed pics...and interior.
The sad thing is...some idiot decided to cut 4 holes in the bottom of what would be perfect doors for speakers.

Re: Junkyard run!
It wont be hard to cut some circles and patch the door speaker holes, especially since it looks like you wont need to do much in the way of metal work to the cab.
Nice score! gah I want another truck..
