Fuel Filler Dilemma...help?
I'm having trouble deciding which fuel filler to go with my blazer tank swap.
The gas cap on my in-cab tank blows fuel on to my new paint (also its not helping my mpg's!). Plus with the in-cab space I'll gain by removing the stock tank I won't "have" to buy a truck box to haul my gear. Plus whenever I fill it up, I stink like fuel the rest of the day. Basically the in-cab has got to go!!! I picked up a blazer tank from a guy in Washougal for $40 last night and now I need to decide how I am guy to setup my fuel filler. Since I have a '67 (and thus no side indicator lights) the easy solution is not going to work. The tail light filler mod looks like a PITA and just putting the filler in the bed seems really weird to me. So far the most promising idea I have come up with is to buy one of these:http://www.automotiveconcepts.net/st...medium=organic and cut a hole in the side of my bed. My job is sending me to San Jose for a week so I've got a few days to think about it. Would anyone like to chime in and give me their opinion? |

There was one on here that used the inside rear corner brace of the bed, it looked really cool.

Re: Fuel Filler Dilemma...help?
I am planning on using a gas door and tube from an Olds Siloette van on mine. I'll have to get pics of the parts i'm going to use.

Re: Fuel Filler Dilemma...help?
The stake pocket filler isn't '67 specific. But since that year doesn't have any of the side marker lights we can't put the filler door behind that. If you haven't seen this mod before check out this link, specifically Post #2: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ht=fuel+filler
