Cruise Control
I hooked up one of the AudioVox CCS-100 cruise control units on my truck. Works well after I figured out the proper switch settings. The directions aren't very good. I had been looking for an original unit, but all the ones I found needed alot of work to get going.

Re: Cruise Control
Yep, I've thought about buying one down the road.

Re: Cruise Control
my sister had a 4 runner we tried the audiovox on, but it never worked. we didn't care about the truck though and it was my dad's money so we never figured it out. does it have a gray rectangular controller? where'd you put that on the dash? for real get some pics up here.

Re: Cruise Control
Man you guys are visually dependent. I'll get some pics up when I get time.
I just mounted the square grey controller within arms reach on the bottom of the dash. I'm in the middle of building a console so I didn't want to do anything fancy with it right now. I can understand the problems with getting these things running. It didn't work at all until I changed the switch settings to use the VSS and tach settings, but reading the docs you would select tach only. Switches 3 and 7 both need to be on the rest off. The kit includes a magnetic pick up you have to mount to the drive shaft. I'm kind of leary of it lasting and was thinking about getting a pulse generator like the one that comes with the gear vendors overdrive. The controller that mounts under the hood is not too big, but the cable coming from it was longer than necessary for where I mounted it(inner fender). You have to tap into the tach wire, brake switch, power, and console lighting. The controller uses vacuum, so if you are running a really hot cam you might have trouble with this unit.
