Nother 'Awesome' Board Member Post
A trip gone bad, made tolerable.
After several cancelled attempts at making a road trip from VT to PA due to either weather of life, I finally left on Friday morning for Jaros44sr's place. The plan was to stay over Friday night at Jim's place and then the two of us were to go into NJ to drop off the car I was trailering down and go parts hunting for our beloved old chevy trucks, a day of nothing but trucks and man space conversation to look forward to. Well...it didn't work out 'exactly' that way. The tale in a nutshell: My truck's an 01 DuraMax and the the "known" issue with these 1st gen diesels are if/when the injectors leak, they leak diesel fuel directly into the crankcase oil. Yep, you guessed it, this trip was when mine decided to do just that. We emptied almost 5 gallons of fluid out Sat. morning. (oil/fuel mix) Details can follow but the main reason for this post is to thank Jim for all his help and efforts. For two days, his focus was making sure I was taken care of! Huge thanks to Jim and his family for making a trip gone bad, better! Last edited by vtblazer; 02-18-2008 at 10:47 PM. |

I would have to agree with Special-K, although my only contact with Jim has been through this board, so far, he seems to be a stand up kind of guy. And also, as someone stated to me a while back, good guys should get treated good (wonder who that was Kurt}. This board is one of the best things that I found to use this computer for and it's actually the people that make it so great.
So when is the parts trip going to happen?

Thanks Guys, don't know what to say, other than thanks for the recognition. I only did what I thought was right for a good guy that was having alot of problems, but we still had time to drink beer. That is always fun when you have a fellow motorhead to drink with
I always want to be remembered as a person who would help out others in time of need

Sometimes I think we're the only ones that talk to one another... I can't be charged with being off topic here, can I? Or a highjack b!tch

James is in Montana, guiding horseback tours, but I'm sure the other ones will be around. Don't know about me, tell ya later. Was fun wheelin' w/ya too
