Electric Fans - what all do I need to buy
Next project is going to be dual electric fans.
I am looking at Spal fans (16" if they will fit) 1 - Push or pull style? 2 - Does the extra shroud to mount them in make much difference 3 - I have a stock Alternator - is it time to upgrade that if so to what 4 - Can I parallel wire the fans so the thermo switch terms them off and on @ the same time or go with the Dakota digital adjustable power source? 5 - Who makes a slick wiring harness for dual fans or should I make my own? Any other thoughts, concerns, tips or tricks for a great fan install? Many thanks

Re: Electric Fans - what all do I need to buy
I had a Spal 16" on my BB Chevelle. NOISY!!! and would not keep up with Florida summers. I went to a dual fan set of 11" in a spal and they were noticable quieter, and would keep my ZZ502 between 1/2 & 3/4 on the temp gauge with the air on. I know that SPAL makes a fan controller, and I have not used one of these. I hear that they are the cats meow! this controller will allow you to set on and off temps, and turn the fans on when the a/c is on. I am going thaqt route on my Sb 69 as soon as I get the 700r4 in it. Trans first, and a/c next month or so. I really liked the dual fan set I had on my Chevelle. The dual fan set will require you to make a couple of brackets, to mount them to your radiator. The fan controller will come with wire ( I think ) and you should have everything you need. FUSE PROTECT EVERY THING!! SOMKE IS BAD!!

We sell a complete kit. Fans, shroud, thermostat, wire, terminals, over-ride switch, and hardware. Comes with a wiring diagram too. They are Duel 12" not duel 16" fans though. http://www.classicheartbeat.com/radi...&__related.htm
