Converting a 6cyl tach dash to 8cyl?

Can anyone tell me what i will need to do this conversion? I have a 1967 gmc big block 305e v6, turbo 400 tranny with factory tach dash. I plan on installing a smallblock 350,and want the tach to work correctly.

Yeah, you need the V8 tach.Your 6cyl tach is sought after and you wouldn`t want to alter it,if you could. You should be able to swap and get some cash to the right person.Or,sell and buy.

It should be stamped in ink what it is.

Right on the back of the tach head it should be in blue ink. It does get faded and you may have to look real close. Be gentle with the printed circuit if you need to move it around to find the stamp.

Re: Converting a 6cyl tach dash to 8cyl?

Pretty much that easy. Printed circuit and wiring should be the same.
