Color Ideas... - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

My truck wasn't a project until some lady tried to drive under the side of it.... That aside, now it's going to be a project and I don't quite know the route I want to go. I'm not a big stickler for keeping it like it rolled out of the factory, unless it was a special edition or something. I'm pretty sure I want to keep it the silver it is now, but I may not, who knows. I always liked the two tone paint schemes for the 73-80's and may paint mine in a two tone. So anyone with Ideas, let me have em! I'm up for anything that basically follows the paint schemes it could have had new Show me your two tones that are other colors too, If I saw something I had to have I'd do a color change on it. The side trim and all chrome and badging WILL be staying like it is, but the mirrors will be changed since they are mismatched and it annoys the crap out of me. I may get dumbos or the small tripods like came factory on these trucks.
Here's some basic ideas I came up with in MS Paint (it's all I have.)

I kinda like the red one, But the exact shades of silver and red haven't been determined yet.

I have other ideas, but using paint to work on this is a royal PITA

I would use the original paint code for the grey/silver and use GM Torch Red for the red .

i think it looks good the color it is now but the silver and white looks really sharp too.

Reverse the burgandy/silver, and add SS stripes in silver down the hood. Or the silver with black looks nice too.

i def. like the grey with the bright red color really makes the truck stand out and gives it a new life. I agree with you, two tones on these trucks are awesome when i get ready to paint i think i am going two-tone also.

I like it the way it sits, but if you have to pick one, Black is my first pick then dark red.
