700r4 ? Driveshaft and TV cable
Just was quoted 1195 for a HD 700r4 installed ,
My question is has anyone gone to a one piece drive shaft with this conversion ? There has been a lot of talk about setting the tv cable properly. This shop indicated it would be no problem ,they do 700r4's every day on other vehicles. Is this an indication I should look some place else ? I've been quoted 900- 1700 dollar for this conversion locally this shop is in the middle and always very busy. Thanks

I installed my 700R4 myself and the trans shop that rebuilt it gave me directions to set up the cable, over 40K miles and no problems. I'd go with them as long as they back up their work.

Went to two tranny shops last week. They both did the same thing to adjust the kick down. Pulled the carb to WOT and adjusted the cable is it had some good tension. Kinda like how you would adjust an alternator belt. Seems to work fine for me. Makes my fuel gauge go from full to empty in no time.
