Toughest Looking Truck
Ok we have had threads about which truck grill we like the best, drop it or jack it up, SWB vs. LWB, and finally I6 or SB or BB. But the real question is which truck looks the meanest the one you could pull anything with and never think twice about it. To keep it simple these all are 2wd SB stock set up trucks.
My vote went for 71-72 GMC the comercials on TV show it driving thru a wall without a scratch. Last edited by ksjh1316; 08-08-2008 at 03:57 PM. Reason: I can't spell |

Re: Toughest Looking Truck
I like the 67-68 front clip. It's sleeker and makes me think that the truck is a sleeper. It's a quieter toughness.
BTW I own a 70 Last edited by kdailey4315; 08-08-2008 at 04:13 PM. |

Re: Toughest Looking Truck
I know the 4x4's are tougher but wanted an even playing field instead of add 3 inch lift to this will make it better than x. Lot of votes but not alot of opinions as to why

Re: Toughest Looking Truck
67 is my vote. Not a lot of chrome, no marker light on fenders. Just looks like it was built to be tough and work, not showy. Nothing really stands out on this truck for show, just plain jane looking tough.

Re: Toughest Looking Truck
For a work truck I have to vote 67 GMC, the painted grill & its serious attitude with its plain'ness makes it a tough looking truck to me
But for a 4x4 I prefer 71-72's And for sleekness I prefer either a 67 Chevy or a 67 GMC Yes, I do think 67 is the best year... but I may be biased |

Re: Toughest Looking Truck
I'm having a hard time considering a 1/2 ton 2WD as looking tough. It's got to have 8 lugs to look tough IMO. With that being said, a '67 3/4 ton GMC is about as no-nonsense, and tough looking as come IMO. The fact that the one pictured is a 351 V6/NP435 truck is just gravy on top of the toughness!

Re: Toughest Looking Truck
This beast looks pretty tough...I know, it doesn't meet the criteria and probably would be a pain to tow with

Re: Toughest Looking Truck
I gotta hang with what I got. Remember, GM changed the look of the '69 to give it a "more masculine" look. Is it more masculine? Is the first series (67-68) more feminine? To me, it'd be like calling Ah-nold a sissy. I like them all, but since I have a '69, I gotta vote for them.

Re: Toughest Looking Truck
Talk about tough, this poll is tough! Given the restrictions of the poll, I gotta go with 71-72 Chevy. But for tough, yes it needs 8 lugs, and also rear duals. 4WD takes it up a notch.
For a drop-dead gorgeous truck that I really would love to see in my driveway, Randy's '67 does it for me. EDIT: Dang it, my fingers are faster than my brain! I accidentally gave my vote to 71-72 GMC instead of Chevy....

Re: Toughest Looking Truck
usually I would say 67-68, but here lately I have really been digging on the chrome gmc grills with no top bar onflat black or black half tons. East side low lifes truck comes to mind. I never liked GMC's until recently, but now they are growing on me. I have owned a 72 and 68 chevys. So I'm not to biased.
