WTB: Steel wheels
Looking for (2) 15" X 10" 6-lug steel wheels to fit my '68 stepside (rears) with rear drums. I am looking for ones with the correct BS to fit with (almost) no modifications, if there is such an animal. I don't need trim rings or beauty rings. I am located in central Texas.
Thanks, S.C. |

Re: WTB: Steel wheels
I would check out Wheel Vintiques. They should be able to build whatever you want. I'd stick with a 4.5" to 5" backspacing. BUT,... measure yourself before you order.

Re: WTB: Steel wheels
I have the 8" wheels on my stepside with bags...they rub the outside of the fender and have minimal clearance inside against the box. I would be very careful with the 10" wheel. My 8" have 4.5" back spacing and I am running a 265 x 70 x 15. I had 275 x 60 x 15 and they rubbed badly when I tried to tuck the tread under the fender lip.

Re: WTB: Steel wheels
Like stllookin said, there isn't much room on a stepside. I don't think 10s will go without wheel tubs.

Re: WTB: Steel wheels
Thanks for the info!!
FYI - Tubs don't bother me, I just don't want to modify the axle. I plan on tubs at some point anyway. I am looking to run 325/50/15 tires. Last edited by SCIV; 10-01-2008 at 09:56 AM. |
