Extra Cossmember (Stiffener) Welded In??
Is there any good reason why I should leave this angle iron piece that someone has welded in at the front of the frame?
Also there is another small brace on the drivers side front leaf spring perch....is that factory? Thanks, Dan |

Re: Extra Cossmember (Stiffener) Welded In??
The leaf spring perch is factory.
There are 2 reasons comomly used that would have the other extra crossmeber but I think you could do something much better for both then what you have. 1st is a sway bar you need a placwe to mount it and that is a place you could do it. 2nd is if you are a off roader trail guy that twists the suspention alot you can bend the frame horns and spring perches but what you have there isnt the best way to do it.To do it right it chould also be suporting the perch on each side . I would say get rid of it and if you are a off road guy or want a sway bar make a new one to do the job your after.

Did it ever have a snow plow on it?
It might be part of that.
