Man! Been so long since I've posted and the saga of the shortbed has come full circle. My 84 GMC is done...well they're never really done but the story begins with my daughter pregnant with my 3rd grandchild over a year ago. She and her hubby were doing ok but 3 kids, a Corolla just weren't gonna get it! Enter my buddy from Illinois who runs a custom shop. "Hey buddy you have anything my daughter could use? He requests a trade for, you guessed it, my shoertbed. Seems he never has time to finish his own due to work. He pays for the remaining parts and supplies for me to finish it, gives said daughter a way cool clean as a whistle new body town car. She's happy, I'm happy for her but miss the shortbed already. One year later and the short box is done but still at my place. I have to gaze at it everyday. I fire it up occasionally(fresh 454, 700R)and lament over it. Now anything for my daughter so it isn't quite as hard as I am making it out to be. In the meantime my wife has "made" me buy a 93 chevy dually, clean as a pin, 57k miles, never worked, you know, the deal of a life time. Now I love this truck but it ain't the 84. So enter the budy from Illinois again with a deal; "I need a stock shop truck that I can tow all the project to customers, how about I swap back the 84 for the dually?" or something along those lines. Yahoo! I am back in like Flynn! The truck is suede black with single stage urathane, the interior is maroon pleather from a 1960 pierce fire truck,(another amazing story) which me being in the fire industry makes it cool. man, I like your grill treatment. Need to see more. Interior looks interesting too. I've been wanting to see what it would look like with stacked blinkers to match the headlights.

the original idea for the stacked blinkers was to put the flashing red lights in for the Fire Dept.

the paint was dupont with a flatening agent, you are able to go,semi gloss, eggshell, flat. this is eggshell

3" spindles, 1' coils, it dropped another inch when I put the big block in. rear is a flip kit with the back half of 2 leafs cut out at the back of mounting plate(old drag trick, then you clamp front leafs together)

I have an opportunity to get a3-4" cowl hood, steel. I know it's been done to death but any thoughts for this truck?(what I'd like to do is the grills from a 69 SS camaro for my stock hood, anybody seen this done?
