new guy with a couple questions
From Houston. I have a 2001 GMC stepside which Im trying to sell or trade for a 67-72 truck.
First question. Will a 69-72 grill bolt up to a 67? If not is it difficult to make it? Second, Will a fleet side bed bolt onto a stepside truck? there is a guy in Dallas that wants to trade me for his 67 stepside but I like the grills on the 69's better. |

Re: new guy with a couple questions
You'll have to swap out the entire front clip. As far as I know the bed will swap.

Re: new guy with a couple questions
Sinister is correct. You'll need the fenders, hood, core support and grill from the '69-'70. As luck would have it I'm sure you could sell a solid '67-'68 front clip for a quite a few bucks more than the '69-'70 clip will cost you, being as the predominant swap is to ditch the 69-70 and go with the sleeker 67-68 front end. As far as beds go- you can certainly swap the fleetside for the step-side....your only concern will be finding a decent SWB bed for a price you can afford.

Re: new guy with a couple questions
I hear that. I can live with the stepside.
I hope this deal goes through, it's a clean ass 67. My only concern is, he knows nothing about the history of the engine.

Re: new guy with a couple questions
Talking about grilles and swaping...having always like the tube grille look...would a 71- 72 grille fit my 70 chevy 1/2 ton?..I could then install a tube grille..good idea?..

Re: new guy with a couple questions
It'll fit, but you'll need the grill support/hoodlatch from a '71-'72.
