Need 5 speed transmission help please

I posted this on the 88-98 board, haven't got any answers, so I'll try it here Mods i hope this is OK


I need a transmission for my truck, it's a 89 K1500, 5.7 M5.

The idler shaft bearings are getting well worn, to the point of howling in all gears but 4th.
I have found another transmission, but it's behind a V6. And it's too far away to go look at just to see if it'll fit. So my question is, will it bolt up to the 5.7 bellhousing (I think it will, but not positive)?
Is it the same transmission, will it stand up behind the (stock) V8?
It's in a 1990 K 1500, so I'm thinking that if it is the same transmission and will hold up, it should be just a straight bolt in, yes or no?

I need to make a decision and get something done soon, if anybody knows I could sure use some help here.

That V6 should be a 4.3 and should have the same bolt pattern as a small block chevy. So...yes it should fit.
