painless wiring
Are the fusible links on the painless harness in the same spot as the original harness such as the starter and fire wall?

Re: painless wiring
The fusible links in the Painless kit are different than the factory ones. Mainly, the Painless links are blade type fuses whereas our trucks are the bulb type fuses. I like Painless setup better, as you can mount them wherever you want.
And how hard are the kits to put in? If you can read, you can do it. All wires are labeled clearly and the instructions are good.

Re: painless wiring
Here are a couple pics of my install. You can see the fusible link in the pics. The kit really made it easy to route and hid my wires. When you open the hood, there is virtually no wiring visible at all.

Re: painless wiring
I installed one a while back, somewhere around 98-99 when I was 18-19 yrs old and I didn't have an issue. The only PIA is routing the wires the way you want, it takes the most time and patience but it pays off big in the end.

Re: painless wiring
So basically it is one big fuse. I wonder if you could incorporate that fuse into a stock system?
