I need to KNOW, Speedometer question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

What i need to know for sure applies to 1976 only . does the speedo have the blue KM/h to the inside of the MPH. does it have only the one smaller warning light in the bottom and what is it ?

I would like to hear from other earlier year,73-77, trucks /blazers also that KNOW that theirs is the correct year and how it is laid out .

1980 owners , are all yours like the 81-87 style with the 85 MPH speedos. again only applies to persons knowing that theirs is original. thanx , DAVE

My '75 is an original guage set (about the only thing original). It has a 100 MPH speedometer and the numbers on the km/h go up to 140 (there is one mark past the 140). Also, I don't have any indicator lights. Take note that my guage set is an idiot light set that came on the basic Custom Deluxe models.

scott, so yours does measure in metric but does not even have a window in the lower part for any type of warning light. ? wether being used or not . usually (4 WHEEL LOCK') is in that window. thanx, DAVE

my 80 has original gauges, im 100% positive. and yes they are up to 85mph and if by the same as the 81-87's you mean by the font then yes mine is like that. my friend also has an 80 with original guages and it is the exact same way as mine. i think all 80s are that way.

My 76 has a 100 mph odometer with kilometers on the inside up to 140 with one mark beyond for 150,there is a window at the bottom but I've never seen it light up.I have gauges not idiot lights for the rest of the instrumentation.

73-79 have the 100mph speedo.
80-91 has the 85mph
Fonts changed at the split.
Loaded trucks (80-91) should have 4wd/choke under the speedo and seatbelt/brake under the tach or fuel

What I have:
73 dummy light cluster
100mph white mph/blue km/h No dummy light due to the cluster.
'76 dummy light cluster:
100mph white mph/blue km/h Seatbelt under the fuel
78 cluster full guages:
(give me til tomorrw to update, its in the Jimmy)
80 cluster full guages with Tach:
85mph (cant remember color think white/orange)
Speedo- 4wd/choke Tach-seatbelt/brake
'86 cluster full guages:
85mph (cant remember color think white/orange) Speedo- 4wd/choke Tach-seatbelt/brake

If I had to guess on yours, I would say it was a choke light if it's full guages, otherwise, it is 4wd. You can shine a light behind it and see it, or is it missing.
