Lets see your mirrors.
Hey everyone, I am looking for some different mirrors for my 65 swb. Any chance I can get some members to post pics of their side view mirrors.
This is what is on mine right now. They are big. I am slowly getting a list of parts I want to upgrade to. Working on getting it running good right now. |

Re: Lets see your mirrors.
My truck had those same huge Ford mirrors too....I went with some from Kragens for now, untill I get some stock ones.
- - - - I guess I dont have good shots of my mirrors....I'm not into the really small peeps most people mount at the top... I really like the look of the stock chrome ones.

Re: Lets see your mirrors.
I use peeps and they keep life interesting! Im still not used to looking up at the mirror. Passenger side is a waste unless you lay down on the passenger seat. I think they look cool, though.

Re: Lets see your mirrors.
I like those originals too. Are those pretty useable? They look real nice. Those are the ones I am leaning toward. I think they look great on the truck but would like to know if they are practical.

Re: Lets see your mirrors.
They are going to be much more practical then most anything else outside of what you already have and, will look a whole lot better. They are the OEM that GM installed.

Hey 502 tripower, any suggestions as to where I should purchase the stock ones? I see they have them on LMC.

Re: Lets see your mirrors.
I like Peeps on the upper door frame. Drivers side is fine, you can see what you need to see to change lanes, back-up, etc. A trick for the passenger side is to stick a 3" or 4" convex spot mirror to it (as big as will fit). Then that side becomes usable as well. Works great! I ran this set-up on my 72 and my Dad has the same thing on his 37 Pontiac Street rod.

Re: Lets see your mirrors.
When I bought my truck it had the rectangle side mirrors, which I believe to be an original option.
I just didn't like 'em. I can't help it. I didn't. So one day when I was over at Classic Parts I had them throw a couple of the chrome stock round mirrors in my pile of stuff. Kind of an impulse buy. But I sure like them better. And yeah, I can see out just fine. |
