Re: Check out what i just found
id take a stab at what the new bedsides go for as well as aftermarket floor. id try to score it for $1000 or so prolly will sell a little higher but it does need plastic so its not perfect

Re: Check out what i just found
that is pretty steep, but beds aren't cheap these days. I need one too, but I might try my hand at buying bed sides and do my own body work. whats the worst that can happen?

Re: Check out what i just found
well i just got an email back from him and he said he wanted 1800 with tailgate and 1700 without tailgate and wouldnt budge. I personaly think that its expensive, i am looking for a nice shortbed tailgate and i found one on craigs list a month or so ago for 400 bucks but didnt snatch it up and i should have. Ugg, I guess i will keep looking.

Re: Check out what i just found
1800 for a bed? Thats insane!!! Around here their everywhere. I just gave a buddy of mine a swb for a 79 for free. I have a bed swb for a 85 left. I better start to save them things and start to make sum profit. People around here just make them into trailers. Their everywhere. Seems like im the only one that likes the squarebodies around here. I guess thats good for me.

Re: Check out what i just found
so you guys in states where it doesn't snow,or where they do not use salt, think that this price is INSANE.............call your local GM dealer and see if you can EVEN get NEW GM sides anymore..............new long sides here 10 years ago were $800 ea from GM,short side even more, and it depends on which side to how much it WAS.......new AFTERMARKET floor 5 years ago IF you could get it was $500......BARE tailgate 10 years ago,$300.......now throw in the latch assembly and the wheel tubs.........where are you at today???????

Re: Check out what i just found
Well, thinair, for all that money,I would tell you to come get some grits and buy a bed down here!I wouldn't pay $1800 for just a bed!!!! Thats retarded.I bet you could find an immaculate "used" one for cheaper then that. Like everyone else said, there are people down here making them into trailers!!!!While Im at it,I might as well sell the bed off my parts truck for $500,COMPLETE WITH TAILGATE!!!!!!Discount for rust!!!!!!!!! If they are worth that much gold!!!

Re: Check out what i just found
I recall someone on here buying some aftermarket bed sides and not being too happy. Said that they worked but required skimming with filler to get them perfect. Factory GM is the way to go if you can get your hands on them, but this guy has been hitting the pipe a little too much.

Re: Check out what i just found
Yeah I too bought a donor that ran for $600.00 and had an immaculate bed on it. I have since parted out the remaining parts cab, fenders, etc for 3 times what the inital price was, and I still have all the drivetrain! If I were you I would look for a nice donor. .002
