it busted open and spilled 12 gallons of fuel on me and everything else. I dont know why it didnt light, i guess I really am lucky! That and the big guy must have been lookin out for me

Well, I have been trying to keep mine stock, but that may be one improvement I'll have to make.

Maybe I could rig a hidden fuel delivery opening and leave the old cap there to give it the stock appearance.

You have to look. I have no idea where Sherwood is in relation to Portland but this looks like a pretty nice deal to me. And it sucks about your truck and is why I moved my gas tank to the back not to mention you can put Stereo stuff back there too.

Yes, thats why my '68 is getting a custom FCG aluminum tank under the bed =] I plan on leaving the stock filler neck and cap where it is and just have a hole in my bed floor to fill the tank. I know there a lots of different ways to do the filler if you dont want to cut a hole in the floor. Theres a nice write up in the FAQ section by Shifty that shows how you can make a cheap and no-weld gas cap cover for the hole using the existing stuff, I plan on doing that.

I looked at the $1500 dollar truck (he was then asking $2000) a while back.

Pretty good shape. I was going to offer some cash on it, but then I found my Burb....

I think that $900 dollar Battleground truck's been on CL Portland before, along with several other junky old projects.

Same here. I had and loved a junky old '75 Cherokee once, and my wife totaled it.

Pretty sure I love my junky old Burb more than my crapper AMC, too.

You may have! I haul produce out of Tualatin, just off Herman and 125th CT (near Cipole).

Here's my daily driver: Soon to be lowered, five-lug discs, and re-geared...

I got a '77 front end, and a '71 rear to swap in, plus dropped spindles. Going to c-notch the frame with some old sections of welding tank, probably with cut springs to start.

Still need wheels and master cyclinder, proportioning valve, bushings etc.

I am surprised the Jeep looked in good condition as it was and how bad your truck was. You are lucky you didn’t smack your gourd on the door pillar and got seriously hurt.

Thanks larry, I did smack it on the pillar! That was where the huge bump came from, but I am lucky it wasn't worse. Those pillars are hard
