Steering Stabilizer Optional on Our Trucks?
My '71 Blazer 4x4 has no factory provisions for a steering stabilizer on either the axle or tie rod.
My '72 K10 has a factory looking tab on the axle, but no provisions on the tie rod (and nothing on the SPID). I borrowed a picture from the board and circled the tab in red. Did our trucks get factory steering stabilizers, and if so how did they mount ('73-up trucks had provisions on the tie rod)?

Re: Steering Stabilizer Optional on Our Trucks?
The '72 Blazer axles I swapped into my '69 has the same tab on the axle tube that yours has. My stabilizer mounts to that tab with a big bolt/stud and the other end mounts to the tire rod with a bracket and ubolt. The stabilizer looks like a traditonal shock with eyelets and not the studs like some of them have. For some reason I can't find a good picture of the one I have. Hopefully the link below works.

Re: Steering Stabilizer Optional on Our Trucks?
The one demonstrated by LMC and GM say tht the double eye unt was added on and the double stud is factory. I ran into that when I bought a new GM unit to replace my original- which by the way is a double eye unit as is the unit on my brother's 3/4 custom camper.(both 72 models) There was no mention on either SPID but looking at the tab welded onto the housing and the grey factory paint on my original, I say someone has crossed their wires. The presence of the tab indicates to me that it was there originally. A friend of mine has a 71, no tab, no stabilizer. To say the least there is some confusion on the matter, but I feel that the presence of the tab and the bolted on bracket as well as confirmation from another truck (blazer) says that the double eye setup is the original setup at least for 72 trucks and blazers. Sorry for the ramble.

Re: Steering Stabilizer Optional on Our Trucks?
Good information!
For reference here is the LMC catalog on the '73-up stabilzer mounting options:
