Stock gear ratio ?

Have an all original '69 C-10 . It's a 307 and three speed . What do y'all figure the gear ratio is ? Must be around 3.73 or so , as I can start from a dead stop in second gear pretty easy . Is there an easy way to find out ? THANKS !

Re: Stock gear ratio ?

3.73 is the most common stock gear found in the 68-70's.

Re: Stock gear ratio ?

witha 3 speed manual in a 1/2 ton, 3.73 would be base equipment.

Re: Stock gear ratio ?

I just found this site with a good decoder. You can find your axle production code on the top of your passenger side axle tube and match it up with their list. They also have, Color Codes, Model Codes, Engine Codes, and Transmission codes.
