Smog removal
Ok here's my problem. I'm rebuilding a 71' Blazer and most of the smog stuff is gone so as I start to replace what is still there what can I do about the fuel system. Can I get rid of the charcoal canister and all those hose's and what do I do with the line coming out of the fuel tank that runs to the canister and back to the carb. Cap them off ? The motor is stock.

Re: Smog removal
i wouldn't even worry about the smog stuff unless you plan on restoring it to original. in cali you dont have to smog anything 75 or 76 and older

Re: Smog removal
Something to think about:
First, 75 and older do not need to be smogged in Cali! Second, since you don't have to do the biennial smog or provide a smog cert. when selling you should not have a problem not running the original smog equip. there's always a but, if EVER you get pulled over, doesn't matter what for, the officer can at his discretion look at your vehicle including under the hood. If he/she determines, in his/her expert (not) opinion you have modified something he can give you a fix it ticket, or impound your car. This usually depends on what you did to get pulled over in the first place and also if the officer got any the night before etc etc etc. It's never black or white. Just something to keep in mind. Re: Smog removal
Sounds like a real crap shoot. I have run into some tough ones before too. Had tires sticking out & window tint. Thanks for the info
