Im broke and wanna bag it.
Title says it all. Im broke but I wanna bag it.
What is the cheap way to do it? I'm only gonna do a bolt in c-notch. How low will it go with just that? Where is a good place to buy bags made for our trucks. Don't really need a kit just bags and compressor. I can piece together everything else from trailer supply companies.

Look here. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=318514
Bags won't get any cheaper than $249.99 for 4 bags and the plates and cups, for up front. PM Jason. (Thorbecke Bros.)

Re: Im broke and wanna bag it.
Thats what I'm doing. You can buy the bags on ebay but they do cost money. I'm making some dropped control arms tomarrow if its not too cold out.

Re: Im broke and wanna bag it.
man that is a great deal.
Ok, I have 2.5 drop spindles on front and 4" drop springs on rear. Can I still use bags with the drop spindles? How low will my truck go with a c-notch. What kits are yall buying for semi stock suspension?

Re: Im broke and wanna bag it.
Yes you can use the dropped spindles and bags up front. With a mild C-notch and some inner fender mods your truck will go as low as pictured below and NOT cut the bed.

Re: Im broke and wanna bag it.
Man,... being broke makes it tough.
You need drop shocks, a Super Track Bar, bolt in c-notch, rear shock relocators, 4 bags, upper plates and cups for the front, and some type of air management system. (compressor, tank, switches, and valves) I guess bagging anything isn't really cheap.

Re: Im broke and wanna bag it.
It needs to be modded in the rear. n2billet built a "mini-tub" to allow clearence inside the rear wheel well.

Re: Im broke and wanna bag it.
Is that determined by the width of the rim? For instance, would someone running a 275 tire on an 8" rim (4"BS) and a 70 rear end have any fender issues before the tire would hit the top of the tub?

Re: Im broke and wanna bag it.
VA72C10,... n2billet made his wheelwell wider by re-doing the outer wheel house of the factory bed side.
A 275 tire on a 8" rim should be fine. Your axle will hit the frame (or the center section of the rearend will hit the bed floor) before the tire hits the top of the tub.

Re: Im broke and wanna bag it.
I was assuming that I'd have axle or pumpkin issues before I had wheel well issues...but thanks for clarifying.

Where is the best place to buy all these? Should I just buy a kit to make my life a little easier?

Re: Im broke and wanna bag it.
IMO, cheap bags are called 'springs'........not to be a bummer, just reality. Good luck getting it done....hit up friends for their extra parts.

Re: Im broke and wanna bag it.
It's hard to properly bag a truck with quality parts if the budget is skimpy... but you can do it, it just may take a little longer. The best thing to do is make a list of parts you need to bag it properly, and then break down that list into phases. You can buy parts and put it together in phases and end up with a quality set-up.
Here's an example: Phase 1: Bags with mounting brackets, schrader valves, hardware, shocks (drop shocks and or rear upper shock relocators). Phase 2: Bolt-in C-notch, super trac bar, maybe a lowering block? Phase 3: Air management system, compressor, valves, tank. Any way you look at it, it's still a pretty big investment in the end. Takeyour time, don't cut corners or buy inferior components because they may be less expensive (it will only cost you in the end). Eventually you will get it where you want it to be!

Re: Im broke and wanna bag it.
As always Nate is offering quality advice. Do you have a static drop now? If not, buy components that will be used when you bag it.
