Another question.

Well guys I'm close to ready.I've done quite a bit to get my truck as far as I have. Now I'm going to remove that ugly rear bumper thats on it...A friend has offered to trade me a rear bumper off of a '78 Chevy truck for the one I'm taking off. But I wanted to see if it will fit alright? He lives a little ways off and I've been unable to get there to messure it to see if it'll fit.

i have a 70 chevy and a 67 gmc and i did put 78 bumpers on it all you got to do is cut the end flush (make them strait on right and left) also i use the same brackets from 79

Alright..what do you mean cut them? do you mean cut the edges off? Does it not fit or does it not look good if you don't?

yes you have to cut the edges off so it wont hit the corners of bed

just cut the edges with reciprocating saw or grinder to make it a straight bumper like the original. i did first bumper with reciprocating saw second with grinder it came out good
