Re: Bushwacker fender flares?
From the early 80's when guys ran their trucks with 12 in wide wheels with the tires sticking four inches out of the fenders. Unless it is a jacked 4X with monster tires they would be really passe by todays standards unless a mullet haircut and wife beater T-shirt are part of your lifestyle.

Re: Bushwacker fender flares?
The rubber ones on 72Freak's truck are generally called fenderettes. I think the style of the ones thirdstreet is enquiring about are more along the lines of the type on baja trucks and such.

Re: Bushwacker fender flares?
Yeah, after a closer look the ones on the link are those big ones that have the external mounting screwsw with the little black caps that pop on them (that always fall off). The ones 72Freak has has concealed mounting the screws underneath. These were popular years ago when people used to cut the fender wells for bigger tires, and used them to hide the sharp edge.

Re: Bushwacker fender flares?
They might not be too bad if you had a lifted LWB 4x4 with some fender rot. You could cut out some of the rot, cover up the other, and have a stout looking 4x4. Not my Cup O Tea, but JMO.

Re: Bushwacker fender flares?
About 15 years ago I knew a guy that had the prototypes on his Blazer. He was somehow related to the ownwers of Bushwacker and moved here to Maryland. The whole cut-out ender flare thing is truly passe along with chrome roll bars and 15 daylighters you`ll never use.If you want huge tires chances are it`s to increase offroad capability.Meanwhile you bolt on fragile fiberglass flares to give a finished look that`ll blow apart as soon as they touch anything.Guys still build 4wds for show, but definately a Mall Cruiser item.I had Extend-A-Fenders on my`90 Blazer to cover the tires on 10" rims and to give it a finished custom look. But,that was the family car and I was trying to make a`90 look more like it`s 70s/80s siblings. That`s why I used finned aluminum rims, too.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |
