Hello from Texas

I am new here so I thought I would say hello and give a little background info about myself, and my truck. It's a 82 C-10. 350, .040 over small cam headers, intake, and a Holley carb. Oh and flat top pistons.

I bought the truck to fix it up. The guy that had it didn't know squat about working on it. They also had it painted. With orange truck bed liner, all over! It looks cool but I doubt it will stay that way. The truck has a about a 2/4 drop on it and some cheap 17's it looks ok. The interior is screwed up and I am working on fixing that up as well. So was the engine. I am replacing the cylinder heads since someone messed up a couple valves. I am going to use 64cc heads with 1.94/1.50 valves.

Enough on the truck. I myself have been working on anything that has a engine since I was about 13 ( I am 30 now) I have been working professionally on cars and trucks for 10 years. I am a emission repair specialist and do any other repairs. I am no genius but I got a clue about almost everything. I live near Beaumont Texas and grew up in Spring Texas.

Plans for the truck Repair engine, Replace gauges with Dakota Digital Gauges, Air suspension, and interior restoration. Etc.

I hope to gain some knowledge from this site as well as provide some of mine.

Re: Hello from Texas

Thanks, I have already found a couple useful posts on here. Especially with the dash wiring pinout. I had to double check a couple things I found to be strange.

Like why the hell is the fuel tank sending wire brown under the truck and then changes to pink inside the truck at the plug for the dash.

Re: Hello from Texas

Here are some pics of what I am working with. I haven't had it too long to be honest I have only driven it once. That's me under the hood. Things didn't end up so good though. I replaced the heads cause of bad valves. Only to have the rings give up the ghost. So now I am getting a long block to put in it. Should be mild with around 300hp.

Re: Hello from Texas

Thanx for all the Welcoming. I am hoping to have this going real soon. I should have the new longblock by Friday. I can't wait to actually drive it. I bought this truck and only drove it once. So I really have no idea how it will handle and I am looking to do something with the suspension. The original plan was air ride but I spent more than anticipated on the engine. Probably end up with a very low static drop. Unless anyone wants to make me a deal on some parts for air ride
