factory buckets
I found some factory low back buckets locally. Do they look good to you? Worth getting? I'd replaced the covers with some repop black vinyl. I also have a console to boot already.

Re: factory buckets
Do you know if the brackets are for a truck or Blazer?
Otherwise if the foam looks good underneath and the frames are fine, the go for it. (depending of price of course)

Re: factory buckets
You can mention price since you aren't trying to sell them. Double check the condition of the foam. That's the most expensive part to replace.

Re: factory buckets
100 bones is the price. I'll be sure to check the foam over well. I'll report back.

Re: factory buckets
That's extremely fair. Your upholsterer (sp?) may also be able to use steam to help the foam get it's original shape back. I would say that's a steal, though.

Re: factory buckets
What should be on the back of these seats? I remember seeing a metal cover or plate that cover the rear portion of the seat. Is this cover on all the seats?

Re: factory buckets
Thanks for the reply/picture. Are these metal covers on all the low back -buckets? I have yet to go take a look at these buckets yet. If I were to get them recoved with new skins, would I need the covers? I'm not sure if they do, but I got a funny feeling they don't since it looks like they've been recovered once.

Re: factory buckets
They are actually plastic covers. I think they are specific to Blazers only. I don't think the truck seats had backs on them.

Re: factory buckets
thanks N2TRUX, ending up getting them today. Their orginally out of a 77 chevy truck. One of the mounting tabs will need some work and the foam seemed to be ok. My 81 will be getting these once I get them recovered and the console redone. Even if the foam needs some work, I have no idea where else I would find these.
