I have a 72 GMC and a 500 Cadillac engine. Anyone know of someone who has done a cad swap? I would like to know some things to look for before I start.

Keep us updated on the swap. I'm gunna start my swap as soon as I can get my truck out of the snow

. I've got a 500 out of a '72 Eldorado.

Thanks! yes I did chop it....not too bad for the 1st time I guess. I am a bit of a welder/fab guy (as a hobby), & picked up a copy of How to Chop Tops, by Tex Smith. Lots of good info, with pics(about 4 different style chops on the 67-72), as well as cutting glass & mouldings, & many other vehicles as well. if you are thinking about doing a chop, the book is well worth the cash.....crazyL

i know one thing for sure, you are going to need to keep a few sets of tires on hand

. After taking mine for a test drive last week after swapping in a 75 500ci I had a grin on my face for days

(Like I heard someone say " Once you go Cadillac you never go back") The torque will suprise the $h#t outta ya, they have torque just like a diesel

Yup, my one ton is built like a rock, with a Caddy big block.
Mine isn't done...but my (incomplete) site will get you going if you like the way I did it. So far it is all with GM parts too.
I'm thinking of getting a sticker to put under the hood saying keep your GM vehicle all GM.

Bald Rear Tires 85 Toyota 4x4- 22r 4-banger, 5 speed, I can actually AFFORD to drive this one.
