did the factory put down sound deadener?
well i had a bunch of gunk on my floor boards when i started fixin rust... and it looks like somebody put in cheap sound deadener.. its about a 1/16 inch thin and i had to chisel it off piece by piece since it was so brittle... do i need to replace that or can i go with my wants.. i want to dynomat it then put carpet is that good enough?? its as thin as our glove box liners...

oh ok i can get a good deal at the local electronic store i know a few guys there and can get me a good deal on dynomat.. gotta get the metal work done first before i worry about that haha.. just wondering what i was i was scraping up a real PITA.. but oh well what isnt these days right?

thanks i will love it when its done.. i have dreams alot of how i want it done.. when its done i dont care how much a gallon of gas is people will see me crusing around almost all day when i first get it done... its been almost 3-4 months since i have drove it

I'm actually shocked how well the stock under coating does. With no carpet, or sound deadener in my truck, it's quieter than my '90 firebird, even the wind noise is less. I can hold a normal conversation even over the roaring V8 with 4.10 gears at 65..

Check out ebay if you want sound deadener.
I picked up 50 sq feet of a cheaper alternative and it cost me $80 shipped to my door. |

i think the kit is $100 for 200 sq ft... i think i can get employee discount not sure yet... long ways from that point haha gotta worry about filler and primer first
