need help with my truck!
A couple of weeks ago I started my truck and it ran for about a minute and then it slowly died. I tried to start it again and it was not getting any fuel to the carb, So I finally got to replace the fuel pump today and it was still not getting any gas after many times of trying to start it, it has dual tanks so I checked the valve and accidenly broke it so I replaced it and it still will not start. Any ideas?
it is a 74 k20 with a mechanical fuel pump |

Re: need help with my truck!
Assuming you have a stock quadrajet carb and fuel line , Sounds like the fuel filter is clogged . Take the fuel line loose at the carb and turn the engine over . Point the line into an empty plastic bottle and see if you have fuel to that point . If so the in carb filter is clogged or the needle and seat is stuck .If you do not get any fuel flow with the line disconnected , you need to look at the rubber lines from the tank to the hard lines . Mine dryrotted and started sucking air . That was on a daily driver . They just had gotten old .

It is a 4bbl edelbrock it has a clear fuel filter so yo can see when the gas starts pumping, The lines look ok and it was getting gas to valve under the truck when I replaced it

Re: need help with my truck!
Either drop the tanks or un-bolt the bed and raise it, Since you are dealing with two raising the bed may be easer.
