need new radiator
Took my radiator to shop and they say not worth fixing. So I will be getting a new one.
What is the difference between a 3 core and 4-Core Radiator. Which is better? The all aluminum radiators are they any better? I have seen a couple of them for around $145. One more thing to fix but better now than after I get in all together. |

Re: need new radiator
Hey neighbor, I bought a replacement 4 row radiator from Autozone on Broad River Rd, They had it in stock. The 4 row is for maximum cooling for big blocks and or air conditioning. They have a lifetime warranty on thier radiators. One thing to keep in mind is if you currently have a 3 row and you go to a 4 row you will need to change or modify the upper and lower radiator mounts because the 4 row is wider,

Re: need new radiator
I recently found out I need a new radiator. Do you mind me asking how much you paid for one at autozone?
Thanks

Re: need new radiator
One more quick question, What was involved in reworking upper and lower radiator mounts. I have got a quote on a new radiator but it is a little higher than what you payed. I'm thinking it is a 3 row so I will not have to make any changes. Just trying to figure out the easiest and cheapest way.
Thanks

Re: need new radiator
I bought a set of 4 row mounts that included the steel upper and lower mounts with new rubber inserts. It's been awhile I think I paid $40 for them. The alternative would be to cut the 3 row steel mounts make them wider and find some rubber inserts from another vehicle in a junkyard that are about the same size. It just depends how neat you want it to be.
