Paint me!
what color do you all think i should pain my baby
and i personally love the color of franken truck's hood but not sure if i'ts worth it what i DO have to do is new floor pans (or at least patches) and a rear quarter (?) because of rust damage, window/door areas are rust free (thank god) i CURRENTLY have decides on the flat black good PPG primer but i was wondering if i could do maby a "satin" look without rattle bombing the color of blue that is on it is definatley a NO.. so what do you all think? p.s. i plan on making a good old build thread.. maby if yall r interested in seeing my baby =-)

Re: Paint me!
I hate flat black on a 4wd.It just doesn`t work.I`d rather have 5 colors than that.
These trucks look great in about any color. Are you saying you want a satin look?If so,I`d go with one that loks like it could be an original color that faded.

Re: Paint me!
You may already know but just in case...
"If" you do stay with primer, make sure you use an epoxy primer, anything else will absorb moisture and rust-rust-rust. |

Re: Paint me!
AHHH HORRIBLE IDEA! don't do flat black i beg you, even if its professionally done its still the most basic un-creative redneck thing EVER (next to rust anyways)sure it looks kinda tough but it also looks like you have a very limited imagination which i'm sure thats not the case. go with a two tone or hell even put a design on it and have it clear coated. you have a straight body and a good sized hunk of steel to show off your creativity, don't blow it on making your truck look like it survived a fire by making it all black.... SO LAME!

Re: Paint me!
Ditto - what you want is finish paint with a satin or flat sheen. You can get satin and add flattener to get the sheen (or lack of) you want. You can get additional protection by painting it with flat clear coats. Best to experiment on an area that is not to obvious, like inside of bed.

Re: Paint me!
The gunmetal gray or a flat silver would look real good. Then do the grill & all other accessories black
Don't put stripes down the middle. I think that looks ridiculous on a vehicle that never came with them. Nice truck!!!

Re: Paint me!
I think it would look great in a gray or pewter. I am a fan of flat black, but if you are not into it then these are my suggestions.

Re: Paint me!
"fun in dirt" THANK YOU
for the compliment i appreciate it =-) ok well i'm done being a a "woman"about it and am making a decision... either gunmetal grey with metal flake.. (which is like peweter but shiny) OR blue with metal flake, cant remember what the blue is called but it looks like a navy blue with a pearl undercoat.. if that makes sense... well.. hmmm now comes the part where i tell my wife and hear freak out because my truck is "just fine isnt it?" meanwhile.. i park it next to her NEW rodeo.. and prey i dont take the side mirror off with my door
