blazer shopping
So I`ve decided that my 84 stepside isn`t practical for a family and I`m not ready to drive a burban everyday so the wife and iIdecided to start looking at 4x4 blazers. I`ve always liked the way they looked but never had one and never had a 4x4 either. Is there anything I should look for as far as problem areas? I have found a clean 90 with 222,000 miles but it`s owned by a older gentlman who claims it`s never been off road and allways maintained. It does look really clean and has power everything. The trans has about 30k on it but the reat is what it is. He`s asking $2500. does that sound fair? Thanks guys.

Re: blazer shopping
Do you have any pics? That dose not sound to bad for a 90, but it's all about what it looks like and how he has takin care of it..

Re: blazer shopping
Here are the pics i have of it. It`s got the silverado package so power everything. I didn`t ask about the rear window but I`m guessing it`s power too. It has newer tires and runs good according to him. He claims about 16mpg too. He thinks it`s got 31`s and not sure on the gearing.

Re: blazer shopping
I`m trying to. I`m waiting on my tax refund that should be here this week. If so then I`m going to go look at it in person and if it`s as clean as the pics look I`m buying it. I just hope nobody gets it before I do.

Re: blazer shopping
looks like a nice blazer, not a bad price either. Make sure to check the tailgate area for rust, good luck

Re: blazer shopping
Looks like the drivers front fender has been repainted. I say buy it, and buy it now. Go look at it and if it's what you want see if he will take a deposit.

Re: blazer shopping
yeah the fender and hood are primered. His son was driving it for a while and had a minor accident. They replaced the bumper, fender and hood. If the rest of the body is straight I`d go for a cheap paint job, or not. It`s just going to be my daily driver. I have been emailing with the guy back and forth but it`s about 2 hours away so I can`t just drop off a deposit. he said he`s been trying to sell it for a while but stopped when gas prices got crazy. He just recently relisted it. I told him to at least let me know if it`s sold so i`ve been dreading every email I`ve recieved since I told him that, lol. I`ve looked for blazers that clean in my area and the only other one I can find thats clean for about the same price is either a 94 or a 88 for a little more but not as clean. We`ll see. I`ll keep you guys posted.

Re: blazer shopping
Well I bought it today. It`s nicer than in the pictures. There is a couple minor things but it`s really clean for what I paid for it. I`ll go out and take more pics when it stops raining.

Re: blazer shopping
Thanks guys. The wife and I are really happy with it. There are a few issues that have come up today but nothing major I hope. I gave the guy what he was asking because after seeing it in person and seeing how clean it was and how well taken care of it was I just didn`t feel right about trying to get it for less. The ones I found in my area in the same condition were $1000-$2000 more. It`s got a bunch of miles so I`ll just rebuild as I go.
