sport bumper ?'s

I just finished mocking up the sport bumper i received from LMC and there's a big slot in between the bumper and the bed. I thought i read on here that several of you have pulled the bumper in. Can someone post how much we can pull the sport bumper in with out it affecting tailgate functionality and also how did you do it? Pics would help if you have them.

Thanks

Re: sport bumper ?'s

Their is a filler panel thet fits in there to fill the gap some are plastic and some are metal. I think Blazer ones are the same. But, I know that Suburban ones are different.

I saw that in the LMC catalog but it seems like they are only long enough to cover the brackets. To me it doesn't look good with the gap that big now if the filler panels run the width of the bed that may work.

Re: sport bumper ?'s

while building the truck i had to build a hidden hitch because of a blazer gas tank install. i also modified the bumper brackets to move the bumper in.i welded this all in.
you can pull your bumper in until it looks good to you (about 1/2" from bed corner) and weld in place or redrill and use bolts. be sure to check clearance on tail gate.

Re: sport bumper ?'s

If you have the HD (longer) leafs, it isn't so simple. The ends of the brackets will have to be trimmed off in addition to drilling new holes or elongating the existing.
