NOS Trim Adhesion Question
Putting new NOS spears & wood grain Trim on my truck and some of the original adhesive tabs don't want to stick very well. Anyone know what to use to make it stick to the metal better. Thanks

Re: NOS Trim Adhesion Question
you want to rub the area where it meets the metal with wax and grease remover if the tape is bad you can scrape off the tape and get some new tape at your paint store good luck

Re: NOS Trim Adhesion Question
If that original adhesive is dried out I would take a razor blade and scrape it off and use 3M double face tape and just cut new blocks of it and place on the pads. You can buy it in a roll at any auto body/ paint supply store.

Re: NOS Trim Adhesion Question
Has anyone tried an adhesion promoter that ABS sells. I heard that might work.

I am in the process of putting trim back on my C-20. I have found that this is the best way to do it if you have the original plastic mounts on your upper trim. On the lower trim I am using the factory metal clips, and they work the best for pulling the trim in flush against the body. |

Re: NOS Trim Adhesion Question
I found that out last night. The new clips hold the molding out farther than I like it so I used my old plastic clips with new 2 way tape and they make the molding fit tight and look lots better in my opinion. The new NOS clips snap real easy if you bend them a little to much. Thanks
