Leveling Out
I have a 99.5 Silverado extended cab, short bed 2wd truck that I want to level out. It has the rake of the rear end from the factory that they all have. This is the first of this body style that I've owned, but I've had several of the 88-98 models. With those trucks I either took out the helper spring or fabricated shackes. Both ways lowered the rearend approximately 2 inches and leveled it out. I haven't really looked that closely on the 99 yet, so I thought that I'd take advantage of this slow time and just be lazy and ask! HA! Is it as simple as taking out the helper spring on this 99 as well. I do not tow with the truck, so that's not a concern.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Leveling Out
I have used a 2" shackle and it works just fine. Measure your truck first. They are notorious for have quite a bit of lean from side to side.
My 06 Silverado CC is so bad that I had to put one side in the 1st hole and the other side in the 2nd hole to level it from side to side.
