Trailing Arm's
dont know much about the 67-72 chevy trucks, as i assumed that all 2wd's used trailing arm suspension. But today i looked at my 69 c10, its got leaf over...

Re: Trailing Arm's
IIRC, 1/2 T Chevys came standard with coils and leaf springs as an option.
GMC was just the opposite. If I'm wrong, somebody will chime in & I'll put a paper sack over my head & say, "Oh, Father, I'm so ashamed."

Re: Trailing Arm's
in 69, GMC had coils standard on the 1/2 ton trucks.

Re: Trailing Arm's
Wow, I didn't know that. Just for one year? Sounds like something GM would do.

Re: Trailing Arm's
You can convert your truck to coils fairly easily

Re: Trailing Arm's
The coil spring set up is a very good layout. Look under the 200-ish MPH NASCAR cars and you'll see the same thing.
These give a better ride, they 'hook up' better when you lay on the horse power, they handle just as much weight as leafs... They do make exhaust work more involved, and there's more work to do when you lower them more than a few inches. |
