What Year Is It??

If you Have a 55 BODY and put it on a 76 CHASSIS Is this a 55with Custom Drive train Or a76with a custom Body?

Does this leave some room for the guys that don't have Titles? Just get a new Donor Chassis with Title and put custom body on it,

What do you think?

Value?

Here in Ohio, you would need the titles for both cab and frame. Then you would have to have the vehicle inspected and it would receive a new title. They call it an "assembled vehicle" and the original titles would be invalidated. You get to call the "make" and "model" anything you want and they assign a new 17 digit serial number to it.

Re: What Year Is It??

While checking with your DOT or local DMV would likely give you the best answer, I kept my old CJ titled as a 1980 CJ7 for its whole life. I don't think it looked much like a CJ7 when I was done. On old CJs, plenty of guys buy replacement body tubs and swap the VIN plate over or replace the frame with custom tube ones and keep the VIN plate on the existing tub. I'm not a lawyer, but I figure if the VIN plate matches the title and at least 1 large part of the vehicle matches that VIN plate, then you okay.

Here's a pick of my ol' CJ.
