6 Cyl power brake question
I want to put a booster in my 1970 6 cylinder truck. But there is not room for my new booster and master cylinder beside the stock air cleaner.
I have seen the offset air filters on 6 cylinder trucks that came from the factory with PB. But hard to find one of those. How did you resolve this? Can you post a pic of your intallation? Its possible to buy a angle bracket to solve this problem on early Ford Broncos. The bracket goes on the firewall, and angles the booster/cylinder toward the fender. Is there such a solution for our trucks? thanks Mark |

Re: 6 Cyl power brake question
I went to auto zone and got these parts. Actually, I had the smaller one for single throat carbs. Then I decided I didn't like the power brakes I had and I took the booster off. I just had too much braking power for my light truck and the manual brakes work good on this one.

Re: 6 Cyl power brake question
You could go to your LAPS and buy a custom air cleaner in a smaller diameter to fit the 1bbl carb or you could upgrade to a 4bbl carb/intake and buy a 4bbl air cleaner. Of course you could always find someone on here selling an original offset air cleaner made for just this situation but it won't be cheap!

Re: 6 Cyl power brake question
I hope these pics showed.Ignore the crappy air filter top.and the dirty engine.I have had so much crappy weather and health stuff I haven't touched the truck in about 4-5 months.
Anyway here is how mine fits. The smaller Booster really gives it more room than you would think.
