Cleaning products for grille/trim???

As I'm getting ready to do a major cleanup on my fleet, I was wondering what kind of products you have use to clean your grille, trim (moldings),... mainly any shiny part on your truck.

So what are you guy's using? If you use different products on different pieces of trim, separate them out an tell us why.

In the past I had a set of aluminum wheels and used a product called "BlueMagic - Metal Polish" with a lot of luck. However, I wouldn't recommend using this product on your wheel rings (trim/beauty rings). After using this product on a ring it appeared to have a duller look than the other three rings.

autosol is a must. the site is down temp, the autosol is in a tube like tooth paste. just a bit on a cloth and polish. good on most surfaces. here is another site for more infro http://www.thedetailingshop.com/en/b...599/index.html you will just love the results

Flitz got my ass handed to me years ago by one of those guys selling the worlds greatest product..you know the one's anyway it cost me $80 for the quart and the kit (you can buy just small tubes for cheap from alot of places) I have used it on everything from my aluminun race boat trailer to chrome,brass and will polish an old plastic head light clear agian too (makes kickass over spray remover to)

this stuff works and I'm lazy so you won't have to much effort in it either....it will polish a aluminum grill to chrome in less than an hour

Here is what Flitz does for me. Havent got my truck back fron paint yet so I was cleaning up the scoot.

and I'll bet when you wash it you use a leave blower to dry it to..nice road king!! I have 2 100th's a softtail classic and a ultra both black and silver...they get he flitz treatment it works great for getting that stuborn brake dust crap off

No on the leaf blower. I have a shamy just for the king. I like to rub on it.
I can't wait for the truck to get back so I can flitz the crome on it. I'm not gonna know which one to rub on first. The scoot or the truck.

One tip I've learned is on my washin and polishin rags. I make sure they don't get dried in the drier. Fabric softner leaves streeks. I keep a sack of rags"wore out t-shirts" just for the scoot and truck.

Thanks for the posts guys. I have often wondered about Flitz, but with the pics you posted Jason, I know what's on my list of things to get. I'm glad to hear that it will work on an assortment of metals. Did you buy the flitz ball, or do you just use a t-shirt when applying?

BTW, the bike is sick!

no didn't find that thread yet...
and I don't rub them dry it's to hard to get between the cooling fins and around the top of the trans....a leave blower works great to get 99% of the water off which means no spots the a quick shammy or a min. wax and I'm off...who the hel whats to wax when you can be roll'n

72 I bought the hole kit for $80 it came with a quart of flitz 2 polishing balls and a couple of micro fiber towels..the secret to this stuff is less is better so the quart I have had for 2 years ( and I do alot of stuff) is still 3/4 full...... and another hint is slow on the power ball is also better ..... but I'm not to thrilled when using the ball????????

Another happy Flitz user here. I got some free samples at a gunshow a couple years ago & have been very happy with the results. Good stuff. And a +1 on the 'less is more' suggestion. A little dab'll do ya.

Now after looking at their products, what's the difference between the Flitz polish-paste, and the Stainless Steel Cleaner spray?

I never used the spray but the paste has worked on everything so far..and it won't hurt painted surfaces either.........

theres not to much I would t3ell anyone to buy but this one fdalls into that class.....kinda like Rain X and Castrol Super Clean...now you have me thinking most 3 m products too
