The lock cylinder is just there so someone cannot function the ignition switch without a key. You could check by assuring you have 12v to the ignition switch.

Do you get any signs of 'life' by turning on the key, warning lights, fuel pumps running, anything at all?

Ignition problems can be a PITA, but I'm sure it's something simple that is being overlooked.

There's power when you turn the ignition. When you try and crank it over though the lights don't dim like they normally would. I can hear my engine driven compressor clutch engauging so I know it's got power.
How can I check to ensure the switch is getting power?

Take a volt meter or a test light to the plug you took off when you replaced the switch on the column. Also check the base of the column for the neutral safety switch. They can come loose very easily. You will have 4 plugs there.

Will do. I'm gonna take off Wednesday and hopefully get her running. Got a new neutral safety switch yesterday but we ran out of time.

Thanks for all the helps guys, I wanted to have her running by friday so I could roll to houston for a Truck meet. *crossing fingers/toes*

Can always clip the purple ignition wire going into the column and install a toggle/push switch if all else fails eh? :p
