Front bag plates & cups???

I'm drawing a blank here. I've got the plates for the front bags on my 72' but the lower plate has no holes in it to mount the bag/cup. I know the bag doesn't just sit on the lower plate, does it? Help me out here guys...

Thanks!

Re: Front bag plates & cups???

The bag bolts to the top plate, and the cup sets in the spring pocket. It does not bolt in at the bottom.

OK but instead of a cup for the bottom, I have a plate. Do I need to just discard the plate and buy a set of cups?

Re: Front bag plates & cups???

If you have plates for the top and bottom then the bag needs to be bolted to both plates and the plates need to be bolted to the crossmember/LCA. The cups just sit in the existing spring pocket like your stock coil spring does.

I'll get some pics up as soon as I can get them. I'm at work right now. I believe I'm going to just have to buy some cups...

get your truck at ride height, take a sharpie and trace a circle around the bottom of the bag, take the lower plate out and drill a hole in the middle of the circle, and your done. I think its a 7/16" hole.

There's a post about it that Liz started. It's been disabled from misuse.
