Front end differences 78 vs 72
Can anyone tell me the differences between the front suspension from a 78 vs a 72 truck (aframes, rotors, etc.)? Also are the steering boxes interchangeable?
Any info is appreciated. Thanks |

The disc brake versions of the '72s should almost be identical. Ask the 67-72 guys. Those guys call tell you for sure. Most of the older 67-71s can be converter to disc brakes from 72 or 73-87 model trucks.

73-87s have different tie rod ends and ball joints. other than that, if the discs are 1.25 than they will work on 71-72 the calipers should be the same for 1.25 discs too. you can make a 73-87 crossmember work on 67-72 and only have to drill 2 holes. track width is the same i believe.
