Hello from Kansas

Hey everybody. I bought a 1951, 3100 pickup about 10 years ago. I have a 1984 wrecked Camaro with 10k on a 305 long block. I was thinking about using the entire drive trane in my 51. Untill recently I really didn't have any place to work on it. A couple of years ago I bought a place with an attached 2 car garage(for my wifes stuff) and a detached 2 car garage(for my stuff) All I've done so far is some disassembly. I recently got laid off from Cessna here in Wichita. I obviously will have some time but little money to work on my project. I have been collecting "how to" stuff for years, and recently have been reading articles about IFS on a budget such as using the front suspension fron a 64-87 chevy truck. The stance is pretty wide but I'm not totally apposed to that option. Are there any other bolt in solutions that would work? I've heard of the pacer. I could also weld in a clip but I need to keep it inexpensive. If anybody has any suggestion about any aspect of my project please feel free to comment. I guess I'm leaning toward the 73-87 truck suspention option but would consider others.

Please read the rules about want to buy adds.....You have to be a subcribing member to sell also.....Feel free to join in on the forums...We are glad to have your here.

Thanks Will do !!! av8tr33337

Re: Hello from Kansas

Visit the 47-59 message board, lots of info on IFS. Most guys are running S-10 frames because it has a similar width to the AD trucks.
