sad pictures
Saw this driving down the freeway. Took them with my camera phone. The blue one was a GMC and there is a smashed later 60's in the second stack. On top of the GMC looks like a 67-72 4x4...

Re: sad pictures
I work next to a scrap yard and see all sots of cool trucks and cars sitting in the pile to get scrapped. It's amazing what some people call junk!

Re: sad pictures
That is a travesty, but many of these salvage yards would rather have the money for scrape than to try to reach out to the truck lovers and sell a piece at a time.
We need to start a '60-'66 Chevy/GMC truck rescue, like the Greyhound dog rescue that adopts them out after they are too old and fat to chase the rabbit around the track any longer! |

Re: sad pictures
Too bad about the wrecked one. New tires and wheels and newer looking exhaust system. Someone was in the process of fixing it up. Tires even look like Michelins (laying next to the hedge) and the wheels look wider than stock...Rallies painted black maybe?

Re: sad pictures
We better start saving all the parts we can off these old trucks. By the time President Obama gets through screwing with the auto industry this will be all that will be left. By forcing GM into bankruptcy he is breaking the autoworkers union contract. Imagine that, a Democratic union buster! So far his changes are not working out so good for America and its workers.

Re: sad pictures
Both of those wrecked ones are a major loss. That white one with patina is/was sick!
What a loss in all the cases above.... it's a shame!
