coil overs
i am thinking about putting coil overs on the rear of my 64 on the stock mounts that i am bracing with 16 gauge
would it work better than the stock coils it has a trailing arm suspension

i wish i would have taken mine off the frame and filled in all the holes and boxed in the frame but the P.O. had already painted it and put new bushings under the cab

You really should look into this a lot more before you do this. The stock shock mounts were NOT designed to support the weight of the truck. You need to make a substantially stronger mount on both ends before it will work with any degree of safety/reliability. If a mount breaks while driving, the frame drops instantly to the bumpstop....what happens then? Tire rub? Exteme pull to one direction? Panic?....all of the above?
