55-56 Chevy/GMC Power Windows??

Has anyone discovered a Power Window setup from a newer Rig that can be adapted to A One Piece Window Conversion Installed in a 56 GMC? Without paying the big bucks from Brothers?

I don't know of a later model system that will work. If going to a 1pc glass then you have to use a system designed for that. The glass has to pivot (tilt) to go up and down.

I used Brothers glass 'cause they sent me the power glass instead of manual glass (there is a small difference in size). I went to these guys for the power units. I think its the same as Brothers:http://www.a1electric.com/index.htm

Search this web site and maybe Jalopy Journal / HAMB.
If I remember, there is a F-rd electric motor whose gears will mesh with the Chevy's and almost bolt on after drilling a couple of holes

Re: 55-56 Chevy/GMC Power Windows??

I've got 1-peice power in mine. I bought a kit that was supose to bolt right in with the ridged street rod power uint, WRONG. lots of fabing later it works. Put the brothers 1-piece nonpower in dads truck. we weren't inprested with it. Had the glass cut and made our own for grandpa's truck for about half. I'm putting 1-piece powers in the 38 couple that I'm biulding right now. The power unit was 150 and the track cost me 50 and I haven't got the glass back yet but should be around 100 bucks. this was for both sides.
