4link bar diameter?
I'm working on collecting the parts to bag my 78' c10 and wondering about the available 4 links I could use. Most of the higher end 4 links I see these days use 1 3/8" or even 1 1/2" bars. Some use 1" such as KP's 6 link. Now my truck is pushing somewhere in the neighbor hood of 450hp. Is there any concern with running 1" bars with a setup like that? Should I go with something more stout like an Art Morrison kit or is the KP sufficent? If the 1" are fine why do so many companies use larger bars? Or are the larger bars really a better bet in this case? Thanx

Re: 4link bar diameter?
I just went ahead and got a bar bung kit from SD. Its made for a 2x2 square tubing, since I'm really not going for looks, I just wanted thickness and size like you cuz of the horsepower stuff. If knowing what I know now, give thebagshack a call. Devon's usually got more parts cheaper than what he has on his site.

Re: 4link bar diameter?
I put the same parallel 4 links on almost everyting i build and i use 1 1/4 " dom for the bars and the panhard bar. Hope that helps.

Thanx newage and leftcoast. Im still curios about what the experts would say when it comes bar size and wall thickness vs. HP demands and type of driving.

Re: 4link bar diameter?
I used 1 1/4" 1/8 wall DOM tube as stated above. my dodge is pushing 370hp and it seems fine. I'd be more worried about the welds cracking at the bushings than the bars not being able to handle the hp.

Re: 4link bar diameter?
I came out of the off-road world where 1.5" OD, 1/4" wall DOM is the norm. I always err on the side of over kill.
